The troop led by Alexander Urquiola had defeated during his debut last Friday to the hosts and a day later he easily beat the representation of the Czech Republic, thereby strengthening his chances of advancing to the next round of the tournament, according to a note published by the sports portal Hit.
The Cubans unleashed a fierce offensive against the Europeans in the face of weak pitching to beat them before the limit with a score of 18-2, highlighting Maikol Rodríguez, who went 2-2 with a home run included, drove in four runs and was selected as the outstanding player of the day.

The Cuban advance materialized when the Taiwanese team, which had dealt another costly 2-1 loss to the locals on Saturday, comfortably beat the Czech team with a score of 7-2. This result left those rivals without options to stay in the competition.
This Tuesday the Cuban team will face Taiwan in a duel that will only define the leader of the key, but important because the tournament regulations establish that the result against the other classified team is carried forward to that instance.
That same day the Japanese and Colombians will collide, an event also of interest for the classification of key B.
The media highlights that after three competitive days, in addition to Cubans and Taiwanese (2-0), the casts of Japan (2-0) in key B and those of the United States (3-0) and Puerto Rico ( 2-0) in C, these last rivals in this Monday’s program.
The Cuban team seeks to win the tournament to somehow begin to overcome the drought of good results that the island baseball in the most recent years.
While Cuban baseball players have imposed a record presence in the American Major Leagues during the current season, national sport on the Island is going through its lowest levels, weighed down by the constant departure from the country of its best figures and prospects, all seeking to sign a professional contract with one of the teams of the MLB.
