Elizalde covered the distance in 24.27 seconds to surpass Bouzá (24.53), as happened on the previous day, while the Argentine Maximiliano Veiro Sanabria (26.32) also repeated his bronze finish.
Another Cuban title came thanks to the performance of María Rosa Albarrán (T47-under-17), who had eluded the podium in her previous presentations. The Havana woman, fourth in the 100 and 200 meter races, was crowned in the long jump with a stretch of 4.53 meters, far from the 3.48 that secured the second place for the Peruvian Tiziana González.
The publication specifies that in that same specialty for men, but in the T46 class (sub-20), Jean Carlos Acevedo from Villa Clara (6.58 m) was in charge, accompanied by Yeikol De Roncele from Mayabeque (6.10).
Something similar happened in the men’s long jump event (T47) for those under 17 years of age, in which Harol Lorén from Havana (T47) established himself with a personal best of 6.15 meters. The T46 competitors joined the competition, such as their compatriot Osbiel Palacios, owner of the silver medal with a maximum jump of 5.44.
Also on the podium were sprinter Tairemy Navarro (T11/sub-17) and her guide Marcos Antonio Roldán, with a time of 34.21 seconds that guaranteed her the silver medal in the 200 meters; and Lisvania Álvarez (F46/sub-20), runner-up in the shot put thanks to a shot of 7.78 meters.
The closing of the para-athletics actions is scheduled for this Wednesday with good options for Cubans to expand their laurels in the throwing and speed competitions.
The island’s delegation closed its forays into the table paratennis competition without winning medals, and awaits its debut in the parapesas and parajudo competitions.
