The cuban boxing squad who participates in the World Championship from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, scored his first tournament success through Saidel Horta, in the 57kg division.
In his debut in these contests, the young fighter from the island was superior to the Belarusian Maksim Dankov in the ring, and received the vote of all the judges (5-0), according to the report from the digital site Hit.

After his success, the Cuban boxer declared in the mixed zone of the impressive Humo Arena that he was “very happy to have ‘broken the ice'” for Cuba in the contest.
The impetuous boxer from Cienfuegos will return to action next Friday to cross gloves with Anthony Joseph from Trinidad, according to Hit.

The Cuban navy will be represented this Tuesday in the 63.5-kilogram division by the multi-laureate Lázaro Álvarez, who now has the possibility of extending his consecrations in these fights to four.
According to the note, his first rival in the contest will be the Mexican César Morales, while another member of the island squad, the inexperienced Nelson Williams, will have his debut in the 86-kilogram division against the Dominican Daniel Guzmán.
Cuba is one of the nations that has boxers in all divisions of the contest, whose registration closed at 538 fighters representing 107 nations.
The history of the World Boxing Championships has the island as the one with the greatest number of titles conquered, with 80. In addition, Cuban boxers have achieved 35 silver and 28 bronze medals in all the events held.
The Cuban teams have emerged successful in 12 of the 20 editions in which they have participated, and only in the versions of Milan 2009 and Yekaterinburg 2019 they could not win more than one crown.
