The report of the Cuban health authorities of July 9 states that at the end of that day, 392 COVID patients were hospitalized, 185 suspected 185 and 207 active cases.
It also maintains that 2,503 samples were taken for surveillance, and that 57 were positive. Cuba has accumulated 13,985,456 samples taken and 1,106,422 positive.
Of the total cases, 51 were contacts of confirmed cases: 3 with a source of infection abroad and 3 without a precise source of infection. Of the 57 cases diagnosed, 34 were female and 23 male.
The 57 diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years old (26), from 20 to 39 years old (17), from 40 to 59 years old (5), and 60 years old and over (9).
By provinces, the highest figures correspond to Havana and Las Tunas, with 16 and 11 cases, respectively.
Of 1,106,422 patients diagnosed with the disease, 207 remain hospitalized, of which 205 have a stable clinical course. Two confirmed patients are treated in Intensive Care, of which there is one in critical condition and one in serious condition.
