Cuba: 118 infections on Wednesday. There were no deaths from COVID-19 on the day

Cuba reported 118 infections due to SARS-CoV-2 on Wednesday, according to the part that issues today the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP). There were no deaths from COVID-19 on this day and the death toll from the pandemic is 8,527.

The laboratories processed 5934 samples, with a positivity of 2.0%.

Of the total, 115 correspond to contacts of confirmed cases, in one individual the cause of the infection was not specified while in two the imported cases were closed.

Havana (24) and Camagüey (21) were the provinces that reported the most cases. The rest of the territories identified figures below 12 cases, with the exception of Guantánamo, which did not register any.

By age, the group made up of those under 20 years of age continues to be the one with the most infections in 24 hours, with 59. They are followed by those over 60, with 31. In addition, 15 correspond to the range between 20 and 39 years, and 13 fell those between 40 and 59.

According to the MINSAP, 150 clinical discharges were notified and the number of people admitted as a result of COVID-19 closed at 2,506; of these, 603 concern confirmed active cases.

In intensive care rooms, the sum of bedridden patients closed at 13, three in critical condition and 10 reported as serious.
