CTV urges the CNE to publish all voting records from the 28Jul election

The Confederation of Workers of Venezuela asked the electoral body to publish of immediately the voting records, table by table throughout the national territory, “in a gesture of constitutional respect for the popular will and as a sign of commitment with democratic principles”


The Venezuelan Workers’ Confederation (CTV) expressed on Monday, August 5, that it “deplores” the delay in the full delivery of the results, issued by the National Electoral Council (CNE) and called for an end to the repression of peaceful protests.

“The results have been questioned and, as they present serious inconsistencies, have generated legitimate concern in various sectors of society. The lack of transparency and coherence in the publication of the results, broken down by voting center and electoral table, coupled with the complaints of irregularities pointed out by national and international actors, They have called into question the credibility and confidence in this electoral process,” the statement reads.

The union added that the electoral uncertainty has been accompanied by accusations of repression, violations of human rights, the right to life and the right to peaceful protest within the framework of the Constitution.

“The CTV, as an organization representing Venezuelan workers, joins the voices calling for a clear and definitive presentation of the election results. We urge the CNE (as the sole governing body of the electoral processes) to publish immediately the voting records, table by table throughout the national territory, in a gesture of constitutional respect for the popular will and as a sign of commitment with democratic principles,” he demands.

The confederation also called on Venezuelans to demonstrations remain peaceful, ensuring human integrity and respecting public and private property, as well as work spaces.

The CTV urged the forces of order and security of the State to exercise their role with responsibility, guaranteeing respect for human rights. “Violence It only aggravates divisions and removes the possibility of a sincere, constructive dialogue. guarantor of peace.”

Finally, they pointed out that all sectors must commit to unity and national reconciliation, and that the country’s well-being, both economically and socially, depends on the ability to overcome differences and work together to build a better future for all Venezuelans.

The CTV also called on all national and international institutions to join in this request for electoral transparencyto strengthen democracy and guarantee a prosperous and sustainable future for all Venezuelans without exclusion.
