CSS attends during Carnival Green Alert high demand for patients with common diseases

Common disease remains the main cause of care at the facilities of the Social Security Fund, nationwide, with 10,097 patients, with a total of 11,732 cases treated during the Green Alert for Carnival 2023.

Meanwhile, critical emergencies (collision, run over, wounded by a knife and fire, minor traumas and burns) registered during the alert totaled 1,611, with minor traumas (falls, blows) being the most attention with 1,403.

The provinces with the highest number of cases in the CSS facilities were Panama Metro with 4,482, followed by Panama Oeste with 1,621 and Chiriquí with 1,387.

Insured patients were 8,998 and uninsured 2,734; 6,040 female and 5,692 male.

The National Department of Emergency Management, Disaster and Patient Transport (DENGEDTP), with its pre-hospital ambulances, have treated some 444 patients during the five days of green alert, of which 388 were due to common morbidity (disease) and 42 due to critical emergencies.

Insured patients benefited from CSS ambulance care were 247 and uninsured 197, where 225 were female and 219 male.

Chiriquí leads the attention with 150 cases, Panama West 83 and Panama Metro 74, Bocas del Toro 49, Colón 27, Panama East 24, Coclé 16, Veraguas 13, Los Santos 7 and Herrera 1.
