CSJ admits lawsuit of unconstitutionality against Unachi

The Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ), under the support of Judge Carlos Alberto Vásquez Reyes, admitted on the afternoon of this Thursday, August 18, 2022, the claim of unconstitutionality filed by Mr. José Guillermo Bazán Julio, acting on his own behalf and representation, so that article 2 of Law 292 of 2022, published in Official Gazette No. 29508 of April 1, 2022, which reforms article 62 of Law 4 of 2006, is declared unconstitutional. (Which modifies Law 4 of 2006, which reorganizes the Autonomous University of Chiriquí, Unachi).

The claim was admitted after verifying that it complies with the formalities required in article 2560 of the Judicial Code; that is, the literal transcription of the provision, norm or act accused of being unconstitutional, and the indication of the constitutional provisions that are considered infringed and the concept of the infraction.

In accordance with the provisions of our legal system, it is transferred to the Attorney General’s Office for a term not exceeding ten (10) days, counted from the receipt of the file, so that it can issue a concept as provided in article 2563 of the Judicial Code.
