A tragic traffic accident occurred this morning at kilometer 154+280 of the Central Highway, in the section Lima – La Oroya, left a deceased person, wounded and material damage. The incident occurred around 07:00 hours, when a cargo truck and a truck collided.

According to the police report, a Mercedes Benz truck, of Beeo-866 plaque, which transported groceries from Lima to Huancayo, confused and hit a Toyota Hilux truck, P2U-848 plate, which was heading from perené to Lima. The truck was driven by Jaime Navarro Salvador (33), who was unharmed and was arrested for law proceedings.

Four people were traveling in the truck: the driver Félix Rojas Yuto, who died in the place; his son of initials Arc (16), which was injured; Javier Gamarra Leo (47), also injured; and Soriano Salary Carrasco (49), who remains caught inside the cabin. Firefighters, Highway Police and Deviandes staff work on the rescue and removal of vehicles. Traffic remains restricted to a single lane.
