A cruise ship arrived at the port of Punta del Este on Tuesday with swinger couples, reported Telemundo and confirmed The Observer.
The ship, named Azamara Porsuit, arrived from Rio de Janeiro at 7:00 p.m. and has 564 passengers on board, most of them American and Mexican nationals. On Thursday she will go to Montevideo and from there she will continue to Buenos Aires.
“We’ve never had a swingers cruise, it’s something new,” Ramiro Barutta, a tour operator, told Telemundo.
“It’s my first time in South America, I like the beaches in this place,” said one of the tourists consulted by Telemundo.
From December 22 to 30, 2022, 245,675 passengers entered the country to spend the summer in Uruguayaccording to the latest report prepared by the Department of Statistics of the National Directorate of Migration.
“Tourists who entered on those dates are those who are present in the country during this weekend in which the new year began; and it is for this reason that excellent demand is being registered in the hotel sector and in that of temporary rentals”, pointed out the deputy minister of Tourism, Remo Monzeglio to The Observer.
Of the total number of passengers who entered, 93,634 come from Argentina (38.11%). In addition, 91,104 are Uruguayan, which leaves domestic tourism with a weight of 37.08%, which, although it was in second place, had a behavior very similar to that of Argentine tourists.
