Croatia vs. Morocco: different economies, but with similar results

If the economies of both nations jumped on the field, Morocco would take the advantage by having a value of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) almost double that of Croatian GDP.

However, when the value of these economies is divided among their respective inhabitants, the European nation turns around with 17,399 dollars, a figure almost five times higher than the 3,497 dollars that would correspond to each citizen of the African country.

Croatia and Morocco have certain similarities in other macroeconomic results, for example, the former faces an unemployment rate of 8.7%, while the latter reaches 11.5% at the end of last year, according to figures from the World Bank (WB). A similar case is with inflation, with 13.2% for the first and 8.1% for the second.

78% of Croats use the internet, a level lower than 84% of Moroccans.

But beyond the economic results, the teams led by Josko Gvardiol and Achraf Hakimi are the great surprises of the World Cup and they will surely prove it again once they take to the field this Saturday, December 17.
