The president of the block of Buenos Aires senators of the Frente de Todos (FdT), María Teresa García, considered that “the decision of the Government of the city of Buenos Aires to first reduce and then terminate if the situation persists, is cruelly punitive.” the social aid that families receive in case their sons and daughters lose school regularity.
“In the mouth of the liar, the truth becomes doubtful. Today the Federal Capital and its mayor have several problems regarding the educational system. What he said seems cruelly punitive”assured the senator in statements made this morning to El Destape Radio.
This Tuesday, the head of the Buenos Aires Government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, one of the presidential candidates of Together for Change (JxC) ahead of next year’s elections, announced that he will control every two months the school regularity of the sons and daughters of people who receive the social assistance corresponding to the Ciudadanía Porteña program and, based on that, it will determine if these families will continue to receive 100% of the social assistance or if the amount they receive within that benefit is subtracted as “additional for son”.
If this situation persists, progress would be made with the removal of the benefitas determined from the Buenos Aires Executive.
“The lack of vacancies in schools appears every year in the months of February and March”Garcia maintained and pointed out that “sanctioning measures cannot be declared.”
In this sense, he pointed out that “the social plans appeared and schooling was a determining factor” and argued that “you cannot take a position of sanctioning when public services are not being properly fulfilled.”
Likewise, he stated that Together for Change “maneuver the issue as an electoral issue” and stated that “for Argentines, public education is a diamond and it is untouchable.”
