Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner held a meeting with the president of Bolivia, Luis Arce Catacorain his office in the Chamber of Senators, located on the first floor of the Legislative Palace.

“I’m glad to receive you here,” Fernández de Kirchner told the president, at the time of the greeting, according to a video published by the Vice President on her social networks.

For his part, Arce had expressed to the former president: “Finally, visiting her”.

The President of Bolivia was one of the leaders who participated in the VII Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), which took place in the city of Buenos Aires.

Arce entered the Senate offices minutes before 6 pm, accompanied by the body’s administrative secretary, María Luz Alonso.

On Monday afternoon, meanwhile, Fernández de Kirchner had a meeting with the former president of Bolivia Evo Morales, with whom he discussed the reality of Latin America and the region.

The meeting with Morales took place minutes after the meeting that the Vice President had with the President of Honduras, Xiomara Castro.

Official sources had stated that the meeting with Morales served to “discuss the reality of Latin America and the region, as well as the world situation.”

Meeting with Petro

On the other hand, the former president also met with Gustavo Petro, who participated in the VII Summit of Heads of State and Government of CELAC.

The Vice President pointed out through a video broadcast on her social networks that she was with “really want to meet” Petro because the Colombian president -said- “it was a bit the product and result of recent history” from that country.

“I really liked his speech at the UN and it is always good to meet someone with the magic of the land of (Gabriel) García Márquez,” said the Vice President, referring to the Nobel Prize-winning writer for Literature.

Petro entered the office on the first floor of Congress accompanied by a large delegation, together with the Administrative Secretary of the Senate, María Luz Alonso, and the president of the Foreign Relations Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, Eduardo Valdés. shortly after 7:30 p.m. and left at 9:00 p.m.

In his office, The Vice President showed Petro the paintings of Eva Perón, Juana Azurduy, Macacha Güemes, Martín Miguel de Güemes, Mariano Moreno, Juan José Castelli, Diego Maradona and Néstor Kirchner, among other figures.

“No one is missing, it’s half a fair,” joked the former president.

A few minutes before, the head of the Senate had received the president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, another of the leaders who were part of the meeting of presidents and representatives of States of the region gathered by CELAC.

The reception in the Senate of Petro and Arce had the character of official hearings, without the protocol framework of a State visit, although the visiting leaders were received by the esplanadeLegislative sources told Télam.

Petro, leader of the Latin American left, was elected president of Colombia on June 19, after a second round in which he obtained more than 50% of the votes, defeating the rightist Rodolfo Hernández by four points (50.88 to 46.85 ).

The presence of the Colombian president was expected last Monday, but due to scheduling problems, he arrived in Argentina on Tuesday, ended his participation in the CELAC meeting and went to Congress to visit the Vice President.
