Criminal network that collaborated with the Clan del Golfo in the south of Bogotá was dismantled

In the last few hours, the authorities dealt a blow to the Clan del Golfo, after capturing two people who helped maker uniforms and distribute weapons for this organization. Those captured were in a warehouse south of Bogotá.

In a joint operation between the Army and the CTI, these two subjects were found in a warehouse in the Patio Bonito neighborhoodthere was grenades, mortars, suppliers for pistols, rolls of cloth, cash and uniforms of the organization.

Those captured were Alexis René Gualteros and Yamiled Holguín Montoya, who, as explained by the delegate against organized crime, Javier Enrique García, are responsible for “aclandestinely acquire short- and long-range weapons, explosives, and other items; in addition to making garments similar to those of the public force to supply the structures of the ‘Clan del Golfo’ in the north of the country”.

This criminal network that collaborated with the group outside the law from Bogotá could face penalties for the manufacture and trafficking of arms, ammunition for the restricted use of the Armed Forces, illegal use of uniforms and insignia, and illicit enrichment.
