Foro Penal warned that the National Guard, the National Police, “and unfortunately with the actions of armed groups linked to the Venezuelan State,” are generating a wave of repression similar to that of 2014 and 2017. “Be careful, otherwise it will be much worse if we do not stop it in time. Our call is for calm, that people have the right to demonstrate peacefully, each person has the right to ask for transparency,” said Alfredo Romero, director of the organization.
For its part, the Fundehullan organization reported that the Teenager Edixson Arévalo, arrested on August 2, was transferred on August 17 to a hospital in Barinas due to a pain crisis due to facial paralysis.
