Creole Week kicks off

The Municipality of Montevideo invited citizens to participate in the act that will start the activities of the Creole Week, so today I rule you can enter free of charge from 10 to 13:30. This classic Tourism week event, which is visited by more than 80,000 people, for 2022 offers innovative proposals compared to its previous editions.

Admission will be enabled at 10 am every day and general tickets can be purchased at local Abitab from all over the country or at the venue’s ticket offices at a single price of $220. Girls and boys under 12 years of age can enter for free.

On Sunday, April 10, free admission will be enabled for the public from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The opening ceremony, which will be in the ring and will be attended by Mayor Carolina Cosse, will take place at 1:00 p.m.

Cultural and traditional proposals

Creole Week offers a diverse and numerous billboard of shows that take place simultaneously, with more than 100 live artists distributed in four stages: Zitarrosa, Molina, Sampayo and Amalia de la Vega.

In turn, for the first time in this event, the commune installed a care service for people experiencing situations of gender violence, which will work all week. Guidance and psychosocial and legal support are provided.

Musical shows

The Creole Week not only has proposals within the premises of Lucas Obes and Buschental Avenue, but also extends its borders.

The public may choose to rides through the Prado, or starting from this neighborhood towards other places in Montevideo such as the rural area.
