The Credentials, Regulations, Parliamentary Ethics and Judicial Affairs Committee, chaired by Deputy Shirley Castañeda, recommended to the legislative plenary the ratification of the new director of the Social Security Fund, Dino Mon, appointed on August 8 by the Executive to occupy such an important position.
The commissioners asked the new director a series of questions about the future of the institution, its administrative reality and the care provided to policyholders.
In his speech, Dino Mon stressed that if a reform is to be made to the CSS law, it must be conceived in the best way, with the participation of all the sectors involved, in order to have clear numbers and, from that point, to chart the path to give solidity to the insured and to the institution.
He indicated that the reforms must be sustainable and balanced, and respond to the interests of Panamanians. He added that “The employer-employee quota must be paid, and we will work together to find the balance that the institution requires.”
