It was published today (14) in Official Diary of the Union the enactment of Federal Senate Resolution No. 14 of 2021which establishes the Parliamentary Front for the Control of Arms and Ammunition, for Peace and Life (FP-Controle).
According to the resolution, signed by the President of the House, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), “the group aims to promote a broad debate on arms and ammunition control within the National Congress and to formulate, improve and present proposals that deal with measures aimed at the control of arms and ammunition and the regulation of the limitations of authorizations for the purchase, transport, possession, use and registration of firearms”.
Another attribution of the Parliamentary Front, which may include parliamentary members, institutions, social organizations, civil society entities and interested police and military institutions, is to promote and disseminate, through all the media, awareness of the social benefits generated by the control of weapons and ammunition.
“FP-Controle will be governed by the provisions of the Internal Regulations of the Federal Senate applicable to its operation, by internal regulations and by other applicable legal provisions, and its deliberations will be taken by the absolute majority of its composition”, defines the resolution.
