An operation carried out this Tuesday (15) in Bauru (SP), in the interior of São Paulo, seized 72 separate self-tests for covid-19, apparently with a tampered expiration date. The action involved the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) together with the Health Surveillance of the State of São Paulo, the Division of Health Surveillance of Bauru and the Civil Police of São Paulo.
A large amount of protective equipment (disposable gloves, masks and gel alcohol), which were seized by the Bauru Health Surveillance, were also found at the site, where a company suspected of falsifying and selling covid-19 diagnostic kits would work. The Civil Police seized a firearm, ammunition and identification document of one of the investigated.
At the time of the operation the place was empty.
The operation visited three addresses where two companies suspected of falsifying and selling covid-19 diagnostic kits were operating.
