Minsa reports 49 new COVID-19 infections in seven days

The Government of Nicaragua reported this Tuesday another week without deaths from covid-19, number 13 in a row, although the number of cases continued to increase.

In the week of October 11 to 18, “there were no deaths attributable to covid-19” in Nicaragua, according to a report released by the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry of Health also reported that in the last week it gave “responsible and careful follow-up” to 28 people, and that a total of 15,145 have been treated since the pandemic was detected in Nicaragua.

He also indicated that a total of 14,866 people have managed to recover after being infected with the disease in Nicaragua.

In Nicaragua, 91% of the population over 2 years of age already have the complete vaccination schedule against covid-19, while 95% have at least one dose, according to official data.

Since the pandemic began, Nicaragua has not applied restrictive measures as part of the fight against the coronavirus, which has earned it criticism from the World Health Organization (WHO). EFE
