Covid-19: variation of new confirmed cases nationwide increased 21% in one week

According to the most recent report from the Ministry of Health (Minsal) on the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, of the 8,937 new cases, 5,020 correspond to symptomatic people and 1,646 have no symptoms. In addition, 2,271 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.

The total number of people who have been diagnosed with the disease in the country reaches 4,233,549. Of this total, 37,839 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 4,131,041.

The Minsal confirmed that with this result the variation of new confirmed cases at the national level increased 21% in seven days, while in the last 14 it was -10%.

Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 31 deaths from causes associated with Covid-19. The total number of deceased amounts to 59,552 in the country.

To date, 165 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 105 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 293 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.

Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 61,029 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 42,000,981 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 14.03% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 12.55%.

Regarding the Sanitary Residences, there are 30 accommodation facilities, with a total of 2,174 beds. The actual occupation at the national level is 54%, leaving a total of 756 beds available for use.
