The Covid-19 Weekly Panorama of the State of Rio de Janeiro, released this Friday (15), shows that all early indicators of covid-19 show a downward trend. The analysis considers the data recorded in the week of July 4th to 10th, in the 92 cities of Rio de Janeiro.
According to the State Department of Health (SES), among the numbers that draw attention are the attendance to cases of flu syndrome in the Emergency Care Units of the state network (UPAs), which fell by 19% compared to the previous week. In the week from June 27 to July 3, the daily average of visits was 603, 347 of which were adults. In the week of July 4th to 10th, the daily average was 489 visits, 275 of which were adults.
The Secretary of State for Health, Alexandre Chieppe, said that attendances for flu syndrome, requests for hospitalization and positivity in the tests had significant reductions. “For these numbers to continue falling, we need the population to keep the vaccination schedule up to date and return to health centers to receive the immunizer”, warns the secretary.
The rates of antigen positivity and RT-PCR, which allows identifying the presence of the genetic material (RNA) of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in respiratory secretion samples. maintain the downward trend, already observed in the previous week.
In the last week, an average of 9,600 antigen tests were performed per day, with a positivity of 21%. In relation to RT-PCR, an average of 840 tests are being analyzed per day, with a positivity of 18%. In the week of June 27 to July 3, the positivity of antigen tests was at 27% and that of RT-PCR tests, at 32%.
