The State Department of Health reported that, so far, there are two cases of the new variant Ômicron XQ (BA.1.1 and BA.2) in the city of São Paulo identified by the Butantan Institute. The ministry stated, in a note, that it keeps monitoring the epidemiological scenario throughout the state territory and that the confirmation of variants occurs through genetic sequencing.
“The State Surveillance, through the Center for Strategic Information on Health Surveillance (Cievs), monitors, monitors and assists in investigations, in real time, of all Variants of Concern (VOC = Variant Of Concern), such as Delta, Alpha , Beta, Gamma and Ômicron”, reads the note.
