In the 17th epidemiological report of the year, 595 new Covid-19 infections were reported in the country, which represents a slight increase of 7% compared to the previous week, but remains below 600 weekly cases.

“Bolivia for three consecutive weeks registers less than 600 cases nationwide, maintaining the lowest number of infections in the two years of the pandemic. For this week 17 we have 595 cases, it is a slight increase of 7% of cases compared to last week, “said the Minister of Health and Sports, Jeyson Auza, according to a statement.

Likewise, the authority emphasized the progress of the National Vaccination Plan in children and young people between 5 and 17 years old.

“In this age segment in Bolivia we reached a coverage of 49% in first doses and 35% in second doses, that is, we must point out that of 3,041,420 children and young people between 5 and 17 years old, who are the target segment, 1,501. 821 received at least one dose,” he detailed.

The report by department shows that vaccination coverage in children and young people between 5 and 17 years of age, establishes that in Santa Cruz with first doses it reaches 52% and second doses 37%; Cochabamba, first 55%, second dose 42%; Chuquisaca first 51%, second 39%; Potosi 45%; second dose: 30% and La Paz, 1st dose: 43%, 2nd dose: 32%.

While Tarija first dose 54% second dose 40%; Oruro 1st dose: 59%, 2nd dose: 42%; Pando 1st dose: 33%, 2nd dose: 18%; Beni 1st dose: 28%, 2nd dose: 16%.
