The capital of São Paulo starts vaccinating children aged 6 months to 2 years, 11 months and 29 days against covid-19 tomorrow (2). Children from 5 to 11 years old who have already taken the first two doses may also receive the booster dose.
The arrival of shipments of Pfizer Baby and Pediatric vaccines, this Tuesday (31), allowed the expansion of the target audience. The municipality received new batches, totaling 768,000 doses of immunizers against Covid-19, made available under the National and State Immunization Programs (PNI and PEI).
According to a survey by the State Data Analysis System Foundation (Seade) this year, the municipality of São Paulo has a total of 367,439 children aged 6 months to 2 years, 11 months and 29 days. Already the portion in the age group of 5 to 11 years, which can receive the booster dose, is 812,426 children.
Until yesterday, 32,019 doses were applied to children aged 6 months to 2 years, 11 months and 29 days with comorbidities, permanent disability and indigenous people. Of the total, 24,810 were first doses and 7,209 were second doses, including remaining doses, that is, the so-called “xepas”.
Vaccination coverage among children aged 5 to 11 years is 100% for the first dose (1,082,827 applications) and drops to 83.5% for the second dose (904,866 applications).
In the capital, vaccination has already reached the mark of 37,175,745 doses of immunizers against covid-19, with 12,144,396 of the first dose. In addition, approximately 378,000 doses that ended the vaccination cycle, with 11,507,451 of the second dose and 367,511 of single doses, enter into the account. The balance also shows that the health teams applied 8,361,813 first booster doses, 4,528,573 second booster doses and 266,001 additional third doses,
Immunizations against covid-19 are available in all basic health units (UBSs) and outpatient medical assistance (AMAs)/integrated UBSs, from Monday to Friday, from 7am to 7pm, and in the Integrated AMAs/UBSs, at Saturdays, also from 7 am to 7 pm.
