Covid-19: Santa Cruz reports more than 100 cases per day

The Secretary of Health of the Governorate, Edil Toledo, confirmed that more than a hundred positive cases of covid-19 are being reported daily in the Santa Cruz capital. It is therefore, that asks the population not to relax biosecurity measures or neglect the vaccination scheme against this disease.

“The battle against Covid-19 is not over, infections are on the rise, I don’t want to talk about a sixth wave, but cases are going up. You have to go to the vaccination centers, the vaccine is the only way to avoid complications from this disease, ”said the professional, in time to ask that biosecurity measures, such as the use of the mask, not be relaxed either.

He also said that this disease was under control, since the positive cases did not exceed 100; However, during the last days the daily cases are already passing this figure, for which reason he once again asked the population not to let their guard down and go to the vaccination points.

On the other hand, the secretary also referred to cases of pertussis or whooping cough. He indicated that there are already 68 patients and that six continue to be admitted to a hospital.

He added that a patient can infect between 15 and 17 people, this has caused that in less than two months the cases of coqueluche increase in the department, Therefore, it recommends that parents go to health centers to receive the vaccine against this disease.
