Extreme biosecurity measures and maintaining the use of the mask in closed places, are part of the recommendations that the Ministry of Health has raised to the population due to the increase in Covid-19 cases, as stated by Lourdes Moreno, head of Epidemiology of the Minsa.
According to Moreno, this week the percentage of positivity increased from 12.4% to 21.8% and the cases rose from 3,103 positive cases to 6,435 infections by COVID-19.
It also revealed that hospitalizations in wards have increased, since 80% of the population is vaccinated, which helps prevent patients from becoming seriously ill.
He indicated that people should not wait until they have a serious condition to go to a Health Center, they should take the test in a timely manner so that they receive antiviral treatment and they must complete their vaccination schedules for greater protection.
“The mask must cover your nose and mouth; To all the parents who send their children to schools and colleges, the recommendation is that they use the mask since they will be in a closed place, not
sharing beverage or juice containers, complying with hand washing
On the school bus, the use of a mask is important because that is how we cut the chain of transmission of the virus,” Moreno pointed out.
