The daily positivity in the Metropolitan Region, meanwhile, is 1% and seven regions register a positivity equal to or less than 2%.
The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, highlighted the decline in infections and active cases. “Today we have 9,668 active cases. Of the 1,375 new cases, 23% are diagnosed by antigen test, 21% originate by Active Case Search (BAC) and 21% of those notified are asymptomatic. As for the Metropolitan Region, it presents 28% by antigen, 15% by BAC and 18% of the reported cases are asymptomatic.
According to sampling, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are Aysén, Los Lagos, Los Ríos and Coquimbo. Meanwhile, the Aysén region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Los Lagos, Atacama and Los Ríos regions.
According to today’s report, of the total number of new cases, 1,011 correspond to symptomatic people and 262 do not present symptoms. In addition, 102 Positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the country reaches 1,781,227. Of this total, 9,668 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 1,727,889.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 8 deaths from causes associated with the virus. The total number of deaths is 38,646 in the country.
To date, 687 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 592 are on mechanical ventilation support. Regarding the Integrated Health Network, there is a total of 197 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 50,635 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported, reaching a total of 26,276,042 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 2.46% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 1%.
With regard to the Health Residences, we have 47 accommodation facilities, with 4,584 total beds. The real occupation nationwide is 50%, leaving a total of 1,834 beds available to be used.
