This Monday, the Ministry of Health made a call to people who need to do a PCR, attend the clinics (Cesfam) only if they have symptoms associated with the disease. In the case of individuals who have had close contact with an infected person and do not show symptoms, the Minsal asked them to go to the Active Case Search points, which each commune has at different points.
This announcement occurred due to citizen complaints denouncing long lines and waiting times to take a PCR. The Minister of Health, María Teresa Valenzuela, emphasized that priority is given to people who are suspected of carrying the virus so that they can take the exam in the clinics, after complaints were made about the lack of resources in some communes of the country. .
“A whole shipment of reagents, supplies, diagnostic kits began to all the Seremis in the country, starting last Thursday night, and this continues during these days,” Valenzuela said. “We have been concerned with strengthening this network through of the Active Case Search points and within the same clinics, of the Cesfam”, he added.
“A whole distribution of reagents and means has been made to be able to respond to this indication made by ourselves, and to this response that we have had from the citizenry, which is so positive,” the minister pointed out.
