On March 18, 2020, the SSa reported the first death from COVID-19.
“Today in Mexico the first person with #COVID19 died. His symptoms began on March 9 and he suffered from diabetes. The Secretary of Health expresses his condolences to his relatives,” the federal agency said on Twitter.
Regarding the number of cases, the country accumulated 42,181 in 24 hours so far in the fourth wave of the SARS-CoV-2 virus pandemic, for a total of 5,027,870 since the pandemic began in the country.
According to the data collected by the federal agency, in the last five weeks, most of the cases are present in the groups of 18 to 29 years, followed by the group of 30 to 39 years and 40 to 49 years.
The 10 entities with the most cases of COVID-19 are: Mexico City, State of Mexico, Nuevo León, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Tabasco, San Luis Potosí, Puebla, Sonora and Veracruz, which in total accumulate (65%) of all accumulated cases registered in the country.
