COVID-19 in Peru: more than 26 million 294 thousand Peruvians received a dose

The details that until Monday, February 7, the number of people vaccinated against the with at least one dose it amounts to 26,294,177. Meanwhile, the total number of citizens immunized with two doses is 23,319,200, until 6:00 a.m.

So far, Peru has received more than 26 million vaccines from Sinopharm, more than 34 million from Pfizer, and more than 4 million from AstraZeneca. All of these are applied according to the programming by age groups established by the Government after prioritizing health personnel, older adults and members of the National Police, Armed Forces and Firefighters.

Both the Sinopharm, Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines must be given in two doses to vaccinate a person against COVID-19.

The vaccination process in Peru began on February 9, 2020, in the main health centers in Lima and Callao. A digital tool implemented by the Minsa allows access to information on the progress of the dose application. to check the number of people vaccinated with both doses or with only one.

New vaccination plan

The Government established that a new vaccination plan against COVID-19 will begin on April 16, 2020, with the aim of immunizing older adults first.

To do this, the Executive implemented the Pongo el Hombro platform, so that people can find out the location, date and time they will be vaccinated against the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Currently, the population is being inoculated from 5 years and older in Lima, Callao and in the regions of the country.

Seniors who cannot travel to their immunization centers have the option of calling Line 113, so that a brigade can come to their home and apply the doses.
