Cases of Covid-19 continue to rise. The Ministry of Health reported that the new cases confirmed at the national level showed a variation of 17% in the last week, while in the last 14 days there has been an increase of 62%.
Meanwhile, only one region decreased its confirmed cases in the last week, and none recorded a reduction in the 14-day comparison.
According to sample collection, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are O’Higgins, Metropolitana, Biobío and Valparaíso.
Meanwhile, the Aysén region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Los Ríos, Ñuble and Biobío regions.
According to today’s report, of the 6,163 new cases of Covid-19, 3,248 correspond to symptomatic people and 855 have no symptoms. In addition, 2,060 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with the virus in the country reaches 4,750,775. Of this total, 19,039 patients are in the active stage, considering an isolation of 5 days from the onset of symptoms or from taking the test, according to the Opening phase criteria. The recovered cases are 4,658,222.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours, 20 deaths were registered due to causes associated with the coronavirus. The total number of deaths amounts to 61,652 in the country.
To date, 102 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 64 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 313 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 38,802 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 46,101,501 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 15.65% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 17.99%.
Regarding the Sanitary Residences, we have 17 accommodation facilities, with a total of 1,096 beds. The actual occupation at the national level is 37%, leaving a total of 512 beds available for use.
