Follow-up Covid-19 cases more than doubled in a week. According to the Ministry of Health, there are 1,761,197 cases of the disease being monitored in the country. The expression designates cases reported in the last 14 days in which patients were not discharged or progressed to death. A week ago, on the 18th, the total number of people in this condition was less than half: 817,292 infected.
Released daily, the update from the Ministry of Health consolidates information sent by municipal and state health departments on cases and deaths associated with covid-19.
With the advance of the disease driven by the Ômicron variant, Brazil reached 23,311,317 infected with the coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic. New confirmed diagnoses from yesterday to today were 183,722. Yesterday, the pandemic information panel marked 24,127,595 accumulated cases.
The number of people who died from complications of covid-19 reached 623,843. In 24 hours, 487 deaths were recorded. Yesterday the information system recorded 623,356 deaths from the disease.
There are still 3,110 deaths under investigation, because the definition of the cause of death requires further examinations and procedures. So far, 21,926,277 people have recovered from Covid-19, which corresponds to 90.2% of those infected since the beginning of the pandemic.
It consolidates the information sent by municipal and state health departments on cases and deaths associated with covid-19.
States
According to the balance of the Ministry of Health, the state that records the most deaths from covid-19 is São Paulo (156,778), followed by Rio de Janeiro (69,700), Minas Gerais (56,976), Paraná (41,034) and Rio Grande do Sul ( 36,692).
The states with the fewest deaths resulting from the disease are Acre (1,857), Amapá (2,041), Roraima (2,086), Tocantins (3,986) and Sergipe (6,077).
Vaccination
Until this Tuesday (25), 348.7 million doses of vaccines against covid-19 were applied in Brazil. 163.2 million people received the first dose. The second, or single dose, was given to 150.5 million people and the booster dose to 33.9 million.
