Covid-19 daily report: 5,809 new infections, 35 deaths and active cases reach 18,577

The Ministry of Health (Minsal) published this Saturday morning a new daily report on the situation of the pandemic in the country. The letter reported that there were 5,809 new cases of Covid-19 and 35 deaths from causes associated with the disease in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, active cases reached 18,577.

The new confirmed cases at the national level show a drop of 16% in the last week, while in the last 14 days the variation is 12%. Meanwhile, 13 regions have decreased their confirmed cases in the last week.

Of the 5,809 new cases of Covid-19, 2,969 correspond to symptomatic people and 722 do not present symptoms. In addition, 2,118 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.

The total number of people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the country reaches 4,871,851. Of this total, 18,577 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 4,777,703.

Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 35 deaths from causes associated with Covid-19. The total number of deaths amounts to 62,165 in the country.

Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 35,591 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported, reaching a total of 46,769,156 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 15.51% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 16.91%.

To date, 138 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 97 are supported by mechanical ventilation. Regarding the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 273 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
