The Ministry of Health (Minsal) published this Wednesday morning a new daily report on the situation of the pandemic in the country. The portfolio reported that there were 5,490 new cases of Covid-19 and 14 deaths from causes associated with the disease in the last 24 hours. In addition, positivity nationwide reached 14.79%.
New confirmed cases nationwide show a drop of 11% in the last week, while in the last 14 days the decrease is 4%. Meanwhile, nine regions have decreased their cases in the last week, and seven in the last 14 days.
Of the 5,490 new cases of Covid-19, 3,234 correspond to symptomatic people and 547 do not present symptoms. In addition, 1,709 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the country reaches 4,889,186. Of this total, 11,656 patients are in the active stage, considering a 5-day isolation from the onset of symptoms or from taking the test, according to the Opening phase criteria. The recovered cases are 4,801,672.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 14 deaths from causes associated with Covid-19. The total number of deaths amounts to 62,231 in the country.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 33,011 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported, reaching a total of 46,870,967 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 14.79% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 14.50%.
To date, 144 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 99 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 237 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
