The Ministry of Health (Minsal) published this Wednesday morning a new daily report on the situation of the pandemic in the country. The portfolio reported that there were 3,697 new Covid-19 infections and five deaths from causes associated with the disease in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, active cases reached 7,808.
Of the 3,697 new cases of Covid-19, 2,379 correspond to symptomatic people and 235 do not present symptoms. In addition, 1,083 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.
New confirmed cases nationwide decreased by 4.4% in the last week, while in the last 14 days they increased by 3.2%. In addition, 11 regions have reduced their cases in the last seven days, and eight in the last two weeks.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the country reaches 5,074,837. Of this total, 7,808 patients are in the active stage, considering a 5-day isolation from the onset of symptoms or from taking the test, according to the Opening phase criteria. The recovered cases are 4,987,039.
Regarding the deaths, according to the information provided by the Department of Statistics and Health Information (DEIS), in the last 24 hours there were 5 deaths due to causes associated with Covid-19. The total number of deaths amounts to 63,386 in the country.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 18,987 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported, reaching a total of 47,862,440 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 14.69% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 14.22%.
As of yesterday, 120 people were hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 84 remained with mechanical ventilation support. Regarding the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 276 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
