The Ministry of Health (Minsal) published a new daily report on the pandemic this Saturday morning. The portfolio reported that there were 3,661 new infected by Covid-19 and 16 deaths from causes associated with the disease. Active cases reached 10,821.
Of the 3,661 new cases of Covid-19, 2,571 correspond to symptomatic people and 200 do not present symptoms. In addition, 890 positive PCR tests were registered that were not reported.
New confirmed cases nationwide increased by 32.7% in the last week, while in the last 14 days there is an increase of 62.2%. Furthermore, only one region has reduced its cases in the last seven and another has done so in the last 14 days.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the country amounts to 5,199,779. Of this total, 10,821 patients are in the active stage, considering isolation for 5 days from the onset of symptoms or from the completion of the test, according to the Opening phase criteria. The recovered cases are 5,102,762.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the Department of Statistics and Health Information (DEIS), in the last 24 hours, 16 deaths were registered due to causes associated with Covid-19. The total deaths amount to 64,301 in the country.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 19,725 PCR and antigen tests were reported, reaching a total of 48,611,775 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity of the last 24 hours at the country level is 13.81% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 14.23%.
Until yesterday, 87 people were hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 62 remained with mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 339 critical beds available for patients who require them, regardless of the region where they are located.
