Covid-19 daily report: 2,978 new cases, 17 deaths and positivity reaches 5.35%

The Ministry of Health (Minsal) published this Thursday the daily report on the situation of the pandemic in the country. The portfolio reported 2,978 new cases and 17 deaths in the last 24 hours. In addition, positivity at the national level reached 5.35%.

Of the total new cases, 1,746 correspond to symptomatic people and 430 do not present symptoms. In addition, 802 Positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.

The variation of new confirmed cases at the national level is 4% and -18% for the comparison of seven and 14 days, respectively. Meanwhile, 11 regions have decreased their cases in the last seven days and 14 in the last two weeks.

The total number of people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the country reaches 3,569,492. Of that total, 9,301 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 3,503,036.

As for deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 17 deaths from causes associated with Covid-19. The total number of deaths amounts to 57,597 in the country.

Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 56,813 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 37,210,046 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 5.35% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 7.93%.

To date, 197 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 143 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 307 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
