The Ministry of Health (Minsal) published this Monday a new balance on the situation of the pandemic in the country. The portfolio reported that there were 1,005 Covid-19 infections and 15 deaths from causes associated with the disease in the last 24 hours. For their part, active cases reached 3,733.
Of the total number of new infections, 728 correspond to symptomatic people and 34 do not present symptoms. In addition, 243 positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.
New confirmed cases nationwide decreased by 4.9% in the last week, while in the last 14 days they decreased by 23.9%. In addition, 14 regions reduced their cases in the last seven days and all in the last 14 days.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the country reaches 5,139,804. Of this total, 3,733 patients are in the active stage, considering a 5-day isolation from the onset of symptoms or from taking the test, according to the Opening phase criteria. The recovered cases are 5,052,116.
Regarding the deaths, according to the information provided by the Department of Statistics and Health Information (DEIS), in the last 24 hours, 15 deaths were registered due to causes associated with Covid-19. The total number of deaths amounts to 64,013 in the country.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 7,658 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported, reaching a total of 48,271,727 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 6.51% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 6.16%.
As of yesterday, 99 people were hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 78 remained with mechanical ventilation support. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 301 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
