The Ministry of Health reported 8,730 new cases of Covid-19, with a positivity of 14.19% in the last 24 hours at the national level, after carrying out 58,650 exams, PCR and antigen tests, while the daily positivity in the Metropolitan Region is 13.93%.
The variation of new confirmed cases at the national level is -5% and -8% for the comparison of seven and 14 days, respectively. Meanwhile, five regions have decreased their new confirmed cases in the last seven days and four have done so in the last two weeks.
Of the total number of new cases, 36% are diagnosed by antigen test, 49% originate from Active Case Search (BAC) and 26% of those notified are asymptomatic. As for the Metropolitan Region, it presents 26% due to antigen, 43% due to BAC and 18% of the notified cases are asymptomatic.
According to the health authority, according to sample collection, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are Coquimbo, O’Higgins, Valparaíso and Antofagasta. Meanwhile, the Atacama region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Arica, Coquimbo and Magallanes regions.
According to today’s report, of the 8,730 new cases of Covid-19, 4,530 correspond to symptomatic people and 1,569 have no symptoms. In addition, 2,631 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with the virus in the country reaches 4,084,308. Of that total, 40,928 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 3,980,849.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 31 deaths from causes associated with the coronavirus. The total number of deceased amounts to 58,818 in the country.
To date, 184 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 117 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 261 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 58,650 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 41,049,389 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 14.19% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 13.93%.
Regarding the Sanitary Residences, there are 28 accommodation facilities, with a total of 2,095 beds. The actual occupancy at the national level is 62%, leaving a total of 637 beds available for use.
