The government of the Federal District is providing child vaccination against covid-19 in basic health units, including for children aged 5 to 11 years and for those aged 6 months to 4 years and 11 months. Immunization is available both for those who will take the first dose and for booster doses.
For children aged 6 months to 4 years and 11 months, the only vaccine available is Pfizer Baby. Against covid-19, in this age group, three doses are applied, with an interval of 4 weeks between the first 2 and eight weeks between the second and third.
Children ages 5 to 11 can receive Pfizer Pediatric. In this case, the basic scheme is two doses, with an interval of 21 days. The booster (third dose) should be applied four months after the second dose.
The other immunization option for this age group is Coranavac, which is available for the second dose of children who took the first dose of Pfizer Pediatric. In this case, there are two doses, with an interval of 28 days.
To be vaccinated, children must be accompanied by parents or guardians, a vaccination card and an identification document.
According to the most recent data from the vaccinometer released by the Health Department of the Federal District, 261,500 doses of Pfizer Infantil and 22,200 doses of Pfizer Baby were distributed and the department keeps 17,400 doses of Pfizer Infantil and 19,450 of Pfizer Baby in stock.
