Covid-19: Brazil records 9,700 cases and 132 deaths in 24 hours

Brazil recorded, in the last 24 hours, 9,787 new cases of covid-19. In the same period, 132 deaths were confirmed as a result of the disease, according to the latest epidemiological bulletin from the Ministry of Health, released this Wednesday (25). Since the beginning of the pandemic, Brazil has accumulated 30,846,602 confirmed cases of the disease and 666,037 deaths.

Also according to the bulletin, 29,895,469 people have recovered from the disease and 285,096 cases are being monitored.

The bulletin also reports that there are 3,265 deaths from severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) under investigation.

States

The state of São Paulo leads the ranking of deaths by covid-19, with 169,053 cases, followed by Rio de Janeiro (73,791), Minas Gerais (61,520) and Paraná (43,284). The lowest number of deaths is recorded in Acre (2,002), Amapá (2,133), Roraima (2,152) and Tocantins (4,157).

Vaccination

The Ministry of Health page that updates vaccination data was unavailable on Wednesday afternoon. Until yesterday (24), 432 million doses of vaccines against covid-19 had been applied, of which 176.8 million were the first dose and 158.5 million were the second dose.

The single dose of Janssen’s vaccine was given to 4.8 million people. Another 84.5 million have already received at least one booster dose and another 3.5 million have already received the second booster.
