Covid-19: Brazil records 7,900 cases and 120 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health released today (15) new figures on the covid-19 pandemic in the country. According to a daily survey carried out by the ministry, Brazil recorded, in 24 hours, 7,900 new cases of the disease and 120 deaths.Covid-19: Brazil records 7,900 cases and 120 deaths in 24 hours

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has accumulated 34.1 million confirmed cases and 681,500 registered deaths. Recovered cases total 33 million (96.7% of cases). Minas Gerais did not update this Monday’s data and Mato Grosso do Sul did not update the death data.

The state of São Paulo has the highest number of cases and deaths, with 5.9 million cases and 173,600 deaths. Next, in number of cases, are Minas Gerais (3.8 million); Paraná (2.7 million cases) and Rio Grande do Sul (2.6 million).

In terms of deaths, São Paulo is followed by Rio de Janeiro (75,222), Minas Gerais (63,257) and Paraná (44,869).

The lowest numbers are in the North Region. The smallest number of cases are Acre (147,514), Roraima (174,016) and Amapá (177,772). In terms of the number of deaths, the lowest rates are in Acre (2,025), Amapá (2,165) and Roraima (2,165).

Vaccination

According to the Ministry of Health’s vaccinometer, 471.8 million doses of vaccines against covid-19 were applied, 178.7 million of which were the first dose; 159.8 million from the second dose, plus 104.4 million from the first booster dose and 18.9 million from the second booster dose.
