State and municipal health departments recorded 24,082 new cases of covid-19 based on the weekend’s balance sheets across the country. The data are in the update of the Ministry of Health released this Monday (30). According to the folder, Mato Grosso do Sul did not update the number of deaths.

With the new data, the total number of people infected with the new coronavirus during the pandemic is approaching 31 million (30,977,661).

The number of cases being monitored for covid-19 stands at 339,837. The term is given to designate cases reported in the last 14 days that were not discharged and did not result in death.

With today’s figures, the total number of deaths has reached 666,516. There are still 3,272 deaths under investigation. The occurrences involve cases in which the patient died, but the investigation if the cause was covid-19 still requires additional tests and procedures.

So far, 29,971,308 people have recovered from Covid-19. The number corresponds to 97% of those infected since the beginning of the pandemic.

On Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, the number recorded daily tends to be lower due to the difficulty of feeding the databases by the municipal and state health departments. On Tuesdays, the number, in general, is higher due to the update of cases accumulated on weekends.

States

According to the balance of the Ministry of Health, at the top of the ranking of states with the most deaths from covid-19 recorded so far are São Paulo (169,241), Rio de Janeiro (73,806), Minas Gerais (61,549), Paraná (43,320) and Rio Grande do Sul (39,528).

The states with the fewest deaths resulting from the pandemic are Acre (2,002), Amapá (2,134), Roraima (2,152), Tocantins (4,157) and Sergipe (6,348).

Vaccination

To date, 434,413,160 doses of vaccines against covid-19 have been applied, with 176.9 million as the 1st dose, 158.9 million as the 2nd dose and 4.8 million as a single dose. Another 85.5 million people have already received the booster dose and 4.2 million have received a second extra dose, or fourth dose of the vaccine.
