Brazil recorded 5,114 cases and 63 deaths from covid-19 in 24 hours, according to a bulletin released this Wednesday (12) by the Ministry of Health. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 34.7 million cases and 687,026 deaths have been recorded.
The bulletin does not include data on cases and deaths from Bahia, the Federal District, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte, Roraima and Tocantins. The number of deaths in Mato Grosso do Sul was also not updated.
The number of people recovering from the disease is 33.94 million, which represents 97.7% of people who contracted covid-19.
States
São Paulo is the unit of the Federation with the highest number of cases (6.1 million) and deaths (175,202). Regarding the number of cases, the second and third states with the highest number of positives are Minas Gerais (3.88 million) and Paraná (2.75 million). The lowest number of cases is in Acre (149,756), Roraima (175,177) and Amapá (178,313).
In relation to the number of deaths, the second and third places are Rio de Janeiro (75,765) and Minas Gerais (63,820). The lowest rates are in Acre (2,029), Amapá (2,164) and Roraima (2,173).
Vaccination
According to the Ministry of Health, 485.3 million doses of vaccine against covid-19 have been applied so far. Of this total, 180 million are first-dose, 161.6 million second-dose and 5 million are single-dose.
Booster shots are 99.4 million, second booster shots are 34.5 million and additional shots are 4.8 million.
