Covid-19: Brazil has 29.8 million cases and 658,500 deaths

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Brazil has recorded 666,971 deaths from covid-19, according to the epidemiological bulletin released today (3) by the Ministry of Health. In 24 hours, 36,189 cases were recorded. In the same period, 43 deaths of victims of the virus were confirmed.

Also according to the bulletin, 30,063,682 people have recovered from the disease and 406,826 cases are being monitored. In this Friday’s survey, there is no update for the states of São Paulo and Paraíba, in addition to deaths in Mato Grosso do Sul and Bahia.

Even without this Friday’s update, São Paulo leads the number of cases, with 5.52 million, followed by Minas Gerais (3.43 million) and Paraná (2.54 million). The lowest number of cases is registered in Acre (125.1 thousand). Then appear Roraima (155.8 thousand) and Amapá (160.4 thousand).

Regarding deaths, according to the most recent data available, São Paulo has the highest number of deaths (169,415), followed by Rio de Janeiro (73,830) and Minas Gerais (61,579). The lowest number of deaths is in Acre (2,002), Amapá (2,134) and Roraima (2,152).

Vaccination

According to the Ministry of Health, 435.3 million doses of vaccines against covid-19 were applied, 177 million with the first dose and 159.1 million with the second dose. The single dose was given to 4.8 million people.

An additional 85.97 million people took the first booster dose and 4.53 million received the second booster dose. The additional dose was given to 3.77 million people.
