Since the beginning of the pandemic, Brazil has recorded 657,302 deaths from covid-19, according to the epidemiological bulletin released today (21) by the Ministry of Health. The total number of confirmed cases of the disease is 29,641,594.
In 24 hours, 11,110 cases were recorded. In the same period, 97 deaths of victims of the virus were confirmed.
On Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, the number recorded daily tends to be lower due to the difficulty of feeding the databases by the municipal and state health departments. On Tuesdays, the number is generally higher due to the update of cases accumulated on weekends.
According to the bulletin, 28,214,095 people have recovered from the disease and 770,197 cases are being monitored.
States
São Paulo leads the number of cases, with 5.1 million, followed by Minas Gerais (3.29 million) and Paraná (2.39 million). The smallest number of cases is registered in Acre (123.6 thousand). Then appears Roraima (154.8 thousand) and Amapá (160.2 thousand).
Regarding deaths, São Paulo has the highest number of deaths (166,668), followed by Rio de Janeiro (72,497) and Minas Gerais (60,564). The lowest number of deaths is in Acre (1,990), Amapá (2,120) and Roraima (2,144).
Vaccination
According to the Ministry of Health, 391.29 million doses of vaccine against covid were applied, of which 171.81 million were the first dose; 148.93 million second and 4.77 million single dose.
Booster doses total 63.20 million vaccinees and additional doses, 2.57 million.
