Covid-19: Brazil records 255 deaths and 30,900 cases in 24 hours

State and municipal health departments recorded 30,935 new cases of covid-19 and confirmed another 255 deaths from complications associated with the disease in a 24-hour period across the country. Covid-19: Brazil records 255 deaths and 30,900 cases in 24 hours

The data are in the update released this Wednesday (10) by the Ministry of Health. Today’s bulletin does not provide the total number of deaths in Mato Grosso do Sul, which did not inform the ministry of data.

With the new information, the total number of people infected during the covid-19 pandemic in Brazil amounts to 34,096,935.

The number of cases of the disease in follow-up is 514,876. The term is used to designate cases reported in the last 14 days in which the patient was not discharged or died.

With today’s numbers, the total number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic reached 680,786. There are still 3,237 deaths under investigation. The occurrences involve cases in which the patient died, but the investigation into the cause still requires additional tests and procedures.

So far, 32,901,273 people have recovered from Covid-19. The number corresponds to just over 96% of those infected since the beginning of the pandemic.

States

According to the balance of the Ministry of Health, with 173,484 deaths, São Paulo is the state with the highest number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic. Then come Rio de Janeiro, with 75,119 deaths; Minas Gerais, with 63,193; Paraná, with 44,726; and Rio Grande do Sul, with 40,598.

The states with the fewest deaths resulting from covid-19 are Acre, with 2,022; Amapá, with 2,153; Roraima, with 2,161; Tocantins, with 4,189; and Sergipe, with 6,421.

Vaccination

Until this Wednesday, the vaccinometer of the Ministry of Health indicated a total of 470,462,239 doses of vaccines against covid-19 applied in the country since the beginning of the immunization campaign. Of these, 178.6 million as a first dose, 159.7 million as a second and 4.9 million as a single dose.

The booster dose has already been given to more than 103.9 million people and the second extra dose or fourth dose to just over 18.3 million. The panel also records 4.7 million doses as additional, which are applied to those who had received Janssen’s single-dose immunizer.
