Covid-19: Brazil records 22.8 million cases and 620,500 deaths

Covid-19: Brazil has 10,282 cases and 72 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health released today (13) new figures on the covid-19 pandemic in the country. According to a daily survey carried out by the ministry, Brazil has, since the beginning of the pandemic, 22.8 million confirmed cases of the disease and 620,500 registered deaths. In the last 24 hours, the ministry recorded 97,900 cases and 174 deaths.

The state of São Paulo has the highest number of accumulated cases since the beginning of the pandemic, with 4.4 million cases and 155,500 deaths. Next are Minas Gerais (2.3 million cases and 56,700 deaths); Paraná (1.6 million cases and 40.9 thousand deaths) and Rio Grande do Sul (1.5 million cases and 36.5 thousand deaths).

The lowest numbers of cases and deaths are in Acre (89,244 and 1,844, respectively), Amapá (128,212 and 2,028) and Roraima (131,529 and 2,078)

The folder also reported that 503 cases of people infected with the Ômicron variant were recorded, with confirmed incidence in 16 units of the Federation, with Rio de Janeiro (133) and São Paulo (121) registering the highest number of cases. Two deaths were also recorded, one in Alagoas and another in Goiás.

There are 796 cases and two deaths from the new variant under investigation.
