State and municipal health departments recorded 37,471,847 new cases of covid-19 and confirmed 158 deaths from complications associated with the disease in 24 hours. The data are in the update released this Saturday (2) by the Ministry of Health.
With the new information, the total number of people infected with the new coronavirus during the pandemic adds up to 32,471,847.
The number of covid-19 cases under follow-up is at 919,405. The term is given to designate cases notified in the last 14 days in which there was no discharge or death.
With today’s figures, the total number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic has reached 671,858. There are still 3,241 deaths under investigation. The occurrences involve cases in which the patient died, but the investigation if the cause was covid-19 still requires additional tests and procedures.
So far, 30,880,584 people have recovered from Covid-19. The number corresponds to 95.1% of those infected since the beginning of the pandemic.
States
According to the balance sheet of the Ministry of Health, the state that records the most deaths from covid-19, so far, is São Paulo, with 171,055 deaths. Then come Rio de Janeiro, with 74,157; Minas Gerais, with 62,170; Paraná, with 43,818.
The states with the fewest deaths resulting from the disease are: Acre, with 2,004; Roraima, with 2,153 and Amapá, with 2,140.
The states of Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Rio de Janeiro, Roraima, Tocantins and the Federal District did not update the data on Saturday. The state of Mato Grosso do Sul did not update the deaths.
Vaccination
So far, 454,466,956 doses of vaccines against covid-19 have been applied, with 178.2 million as a first dose, 161.2 million as a second dose and 4.9 million as a single dose. The booster dose has already been given to 95.2 million people and the second extra dose, or fourth dose of the vaccine, 10.4 million.
